Day 4 and 5 of the Boaty Weekender, in which we maniacally try to see everyone we’ve missed, and all the same bands all over again: Japanese Breakfast, Wojtek the Bear, Campfire Social, HINDS, plus Belle and Sebastian, Yo La Tengo and Mogwai once more.

A Lot On The Subject of The Surreally Wonderful DANIEL JOHNSTON Live (Plus Photos! Video!)
Cult hero and wondernutter Daniel Johnston played the Rio Theatre in Vancouver on August 27, to a supportive and beer-drunk crowd. It was surreal, odd, and heartbreaking and kinda inspirational, and just the way you’d expect a Daniel Johnston show to go.

YO LA TENGO Scrap Spin the Wheel Yet Still = Rad
Indie rock stalwarts Yo La Tengo brought their enormous tour bus and their “Spin the Wheel” show to a packed Vancouver Rickshaw show on Feb 19. Then they sorta scrapped the wheel and went off noodling instead. And it was delicious.
