Reminiscin’ about where the music and shows of The Pack A.D., Yuck and Wintersleep have played in my life. All of whom I’ve caught over the last coupla months, while dealing with some ongoing health issues.
January 21st will go down in history as: Parasailing in Mexico, eating fajitas with Yuck, rocking out to Pinkerton and Weezer, and going deaf again to Dinosaur Jr, an 80s prom and Backstreet Boys with Lou Barlow. In other words, PERFECT.
Is it just me or are the really good bands getting younger these days? Oh it’s just me. Getting older. Here’s to London’s Yuck and Portland’s Unknown Mortal Orchestra, the newish kids on the block.
RAGING CRUSH ALERT! I really dig Yuck. I dig all their slacker 90s US musical reference points. I dig lead singer boychild Daniel Blumberg. I dig their drummer’s afro hair. Mostly I dig their debut, “Yuck”. Here’s why I love Yuck, plus a big ol’ photo gallery of the band live in Vancouver.
