Montréal, long since considered one of Canada’s coolest cities, is also home to an incredible local music scene. Suuns, Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Wolf Parade, Besnard Lakes, The Stills, Blue Hawaii, Majical Cloudz, Bell Orchestre, Grimes and hundreds more DJs, hip-hop artists and electro groups were birthed in this edgy city filled with great venues, festivals, clubs, bars and secret warehouse parties.

So that’s why Tourisme Montréal and Consquence of Sound are partnering to go on a pretty special trip (and BackstageRider will be joining in the fun!)

CoS writer Sasha Geffen and I will be spending nearly 3 weeks in Montréal discovering what it is that makes its music scene unique. Every day, we’ll be doing something cool in  the city, and I’ll be sharing my photos and experiences along with Sasha.

And at the end of it, we’ll be also be covering one of the country’s best festivals:  Osheaga Festival Musique et Arts. This year’s line up includes The Cure, Beck, New Order, Mumford & Sons, Frank Orange, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Alt-J, Hot Chip, Diamond Rings, and countless others over its three days between August 2-4.  Can. Not. Wait.
