Update: SEBADOH new album details, tourdates and release of “SECRET” EP on 10″ vinyl

Seabdoh mint and olive vinylKarl Hofstetter, owner of indie record label Joyful Noise Recordings, can bearly contain his excitement at the news, but the new Sebadoh album “Defend Yourself” will find a home on his label and be out on September 17th. Karl has collaborated with Lou Barlow in the past; he released a quiet song called “Welcome Home” on a flexi disc last year, and is a self-proclaimed true fan of the band’s work.

“I’m relieved that we were able to find the time to make a new LP happen,” says Lou Barlow in a press release, “and surprised at how well it seems to hang together conceptually. I’m also pleased that we kept to ourselves during the recording and didn’t have much, if any, outside intervention. That, to my mind, makes it a true Sebadoh record & aligns the style of Defend Yourself with our early releases.”

Joyful Noise are also releasing the band’s precurser EP “Secret” that came out on download-only last year,  on mint green 10″ vinyl.

They have also announce a string of West Coast Tour dates:
