Like every other indie music rag on the planet today, I’m going to offer Gregg Gillis, aka Girl Talk, some free PR.

Why? Not because I particularly love his sample-happy mosaicpastiche music or the fact that every live show review includes at least one picture of dude up there on stage surrounded by kerrrrrrrazy kids moshing all around him and his computer. Not because he threw a kind of cool “house party” on New Year’s Eve this past year in Chicago by building an actual HOUSE on stage. And not because he’s a frankly hard-working dude – clocking in about 300 shows in 2010. (See, I read the press releases!)
